Greetings one and all! Welcome to my Tasting Room. Like probably everyone I know, and beyond, I have a fascination with food and it's possibilities. Since early 2012, I've been working as a butcher in San Francisco. I've been exposed to so many new tastes and exposed to new processes. The experience has been overwhelming! I've always loved food and how interesting or weird it can get (I firmly believe in the Church of Andrew Zimmern). Working behind the counter and having the kind of privilege and access to materials and knowledge, which has allowed my thoughts to become a reality.
Working in the food industry, or even being a foodie (hopefully the only time I'll use that word) in the San Francisco Bay Area is such a treat because we have access to so much material. You can drive an hour in any directions and find a farm or brewery. This works to my/our advantage because you have access to EVERYTHING and can do ANYTHING! You can eat a dish at restaurant and find the ingredients and make it at home. Sometimes it's too easy.
I'm definitely no expert. This blog is definitely part of my learning experience. But I also want to share my experiences. Do for you what so many have done for me.
Let's get weird.
